Old school

I’ve noticed this over the years.

They come, they go.

Senior managers, directors, the great and the good. Apparently.

The young turks trying desperately to climb the ladders they see before them.

Maybe it’s a by-product of the digital age – the billiard ball communication, smack! and off we go to the next thing.

If it was me and my team, I’d want to meet each and every one, press the flesh.

I remember over 20 years ago, at a construction firm that no longer exists, the MD would walk round the office, and visit every site, to personally meet the troops. Look you in the eye and find out how it was on the ground.

Very rare these days.

Old school has something to say.

New isn’t always best.
