Many years ago a friend bought me a book by Paolo Coelho, “The Alchemist”. It’s one of those books I return to every so often. A touchstone.
It’s an allegory about a boy who follows his dream, to find his treasure, his Personal Legend.
Maybe it’s not for everyone. But for me there’s always been a restlessness, a seeking if you will. For something better. I can settle for a while and be a good boy, but I always know what’s around the corner. I have to keep moving, or I will die. Maybe I’m a shark! :o)
“A personal legend, as it’s referred to in The Alchemist, is one’s destiny in life. It’s identifying our purpose in life and pursuing it. In the story, the main character, Santiago, goes in search of his personal legend.”
For me it’s this idea of travel to somewhere new, something better, for me personally, my family, the industry I know and love.
If you’re up for it, I’ll probably see you on the road. We can travel together for a while if you like…
