For me this has chimed in with a number of issues. Clearly we have a diversity problem in the industry ranging from the grey suits at conferences to scantily clad women prancing about trying to sell you roof tiles or drain pipes.
Haven’t we moved on? Also it’s the pricing of these things and events as well. As a microSME am I going to lose a days fee income, shell out #300 plus for a ticket and pay for travel and maybe accommodation as well? I don’t think so!
We need events, conferences, CPD, that not only reflect true values of diversity and inclusion, and real not token representation but also are accessible to the many not just the few. In this way we are more likely to get real transformation across our recalcitrant industry!
There’s a challenge!
